在六月的大誌雜誌，有一篇「人道主義的自由軟體」，寫的時候覺得還好，一看到紙本，感覺很像是新聞稿XD

採用自由軟體，將可以根據需求修改軟體，進行本地化的設計，以切合應用環境的文化需求。舉例來說，在 2009 年的台灣八八水災時，若能有良好的資訊系統協助，就能更適切地安排庇護所的災民安置，避免將信奉基督教的災民安置在道教的廟宇裡。而因著自由軟體的開放/透明/合作的特性，中央研究院資訊科技創新中心，也著手進行 Sahana 軟體中文化/本地化的開發工作，以期在未來災難發生之前，能讓政府部門與非營利組織擁有即時應變、合作互助的資訊基礎。（更多資訊，請參考 Sahana Taiwan Project - http://sahana.tw/）

The past 20 hours have been sad, exhausting and inspiring. Sad for obvious reasons. Exhausting because many of us have been working straight through with no sleep. But inspiring because of the incredible community of Crisis Mappers.

Here’s what been happening in the community:

• Ushahidi launched a Haiti deployment
• Mikel Maron at OpenStreetMap launched this Wiki
• Andrew Turner at GeoCommons is updating CrisisCommons
• Our friends at Sahana have set up a Development Team
• Sahana has also set up a Wiki here
• Our InSTEDD friends set up a GeoChat instance
• Our friends at MapAction have deployed a team
• Einar Bjorgo at UNOSAT is keeping us posted on imagery

Sahana - Sahana Software Foundation Responds to Haiti Earthquake -

We have a Haiti 2010 Sahana Disaster Response Portal - a live and active website up at http://haiti.sahanafoundation.org which contains a feeds from many of the relief agencies and links to Sahana modules that are actively being used to help coordinate the relief effort.
