據說 Google Reader 離線閱讀功能出現後，有一些爭議。對我來說，管他全文還是摘要，RSS reader，已死。

RSS 是偉大的發明，不過這偉大，不會是在 end user 端廣為人知。普羅大眾哪有米國時間去閱讀最新最快的2000筆資料啊。

有了 RSS，B2B、D2D 之間就會發生許多奇妙的混撘，進而造福世人，這才是 RSS 的偉大之處啊。

至於 trackback，滿好的概念，不過似乎死得很透徹了...

他手工打造的 life stream，看起來很舒服。不能自己 DIY 的，也可以試試 Jaiku。

同事問我一個好問題：Atom跟RSS有什麼不同？

找了一下，在 Atom Wiki 的 Motivation 有很詳細的說明與延伸閱讀：

Why are you doing this? RSS is over five years old. It was designed for news sites, a way for them to list the stories they had. Things are different now, and RSS is mostly used as a way of sending around the content of weblogs. RSS has been kludged and pushed into this world, but it doesn't really fit.

仔細一看，更可怕，原來是BSE - Blog Search Engine。

這幾天真不是普通的熱鬧...（yahoo podcast、AOL買Weblogs Inc.、MSN/Yahoo IM互通...）

這個RSS 2.0跟Web 2.0/Blog 2.0無關...

RSS格式有多種版本，蠻討厭的。最近研究了一下，發現大致可分為兩個門派：
RDF派：
RSS 0.90 - RSS = RDF Site Summary。
RSS 1.0 - 向下相容於 0.90/0.91。

DTD派：
RSS 0.91 - RSS = Rich Site Summary / Really Simple Syndication，採DTD架構。
RSS 2.0 - 0.91(0.92/0.93/0.94)的後續版本。
