engadget - Google busts out free WiFi for public in Mountain View：

Google is a bit ahead of schedule with the network, which cost them $1 million to build, and covers 12 square miles with 380 light pole-mounted transceivers. Bandwidth tops out at 1 megabit per second, and Google is prepped to add more capacity if Mountain View types end up being heavy YouTube Google Video users.

昨晚參加FON的網聚，很熱鬧，會場的高潮，應該是在主辦人YK宣佈參加者將會免費獲贈一台La Fonera（FON AP）達到頂點。這是預料中事，但還好主辦單位沒有事前公佈，否則會場可能湧進數千鄉民。
